Believe That. Anthony Edwards must have hit up the best doctors on the planet, because after suffering a bone bruise to his hyperextended left knee on April 25 that was originally expected to sideline him for three weeks, he’s made a miraculous recovery.

He’s now expected to play in tonight’s second round playoff matchup between Ant’s Minnesota Timberwolves and the San Antonio Spurs. Never one to miss a marketing opportunity, adidas has dropped a new advertisement to promote Edwards’ takedown signature sneaker, the Believe That 1, and maybe even announce its latest signing?

We’ve already seen the Believe That 1 for some time now. The new takedown model from Ant-Man’s signature line is coming priced at a cool $100 in adult sizes and $80 in kids sizing while still maintaining a solid on-court tech sheet that includes Dreamstrike foam cushioning. A vented midfoot recalls the original adidas AE 1, and some of the launch colorways, like the With Love and Velocity Blue, directly borrow from Ant’s first model.

In the ad, Atlanta-based DJ Swamp Izzo narrates the mid-2000s mixtape era-inspired ad, which features other adidas athletes like Karim Lopez, VJ Edgecomb, Kate Harpring, Kaleena Smith, Naz Anderson, and Alijah Arenas. But the most noteworthy appearance actually comes from WNBA superstar Kelsey Plum.

Plum had previously been a Nike and Under Armour athlete, originally signing with The Swoosh in 2017 and then transitioning to UA in 2022. Since signing with UA, she’s been given a ton of PE colorways across different models and was the face of the brand’s women’s basketball division.

However, shortly after Steph Curry announced his departure from the brand, it seems Kelsey got the same idea. She stopped wearing Under Armour footwear in the Unrivaled league during the WNBA offseason and has been spotted wearing adidas products on and off the court. The split was confirmed around two weeks ago.

Now that Kelsey Plum has appeared in this adidas ad, it’s safe to say the Los Angeles Sparks star is now a member of the Three Stripes family. For those looking to cop the adidas Believe That 1, the first set of colorways is set to drop on May 7, 2026, just one day before the start of the WNBA season. Could Plum debut the model on the WNBA court? We’ll have to wait and see. For more updates on the latest happenings in the sneaker and streetwear world, download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
