- Jaylen Brown is developing a new 3D-printed sneaker with help from Zellerfeld
- The model is in early development, and we will witness its evolution over time

Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown went his own route when it came to performance footwear. Instead of signing with an already established sportswear brand, Brown founded his own label, 741, which produces apparel and his signature sneaker the 741 Rover. We’ve seen previews of what 741 is cooking up in 2026 with four upcoming colorways of the Rover model, but Brown just debuted the latest innovation from the label during his tunnel walk against the Lakers.
In his hands is a 3D-printed concept from 741 made in partnership with Zellerfeld dubbed the V1. This initial iteration is only the beginning of what 741 explains is a “multi-stage research and development initiative” to help rethink how footwear evolves with an athlete.
“Performance footwear hasn’t evolved fast enough for the way athletes move today,” Jaylen Brown said. “What we’re exploring with 3D printing isn’t about presenting a final product; it’s about understanding what becomes possible when design can adapt directly to the athlete.”
The silhouette will evolve in real-time, and we’ll be able to see this progress as he debuts new iterations over the coming months. 3D-printed footwear, designed with 3D digital renderings, can be refined and updated much more quickly than traditional footwear. Every athlete can achieve a true biomechanical fit, as feet can be scanned to create a one-of-a-kind fit tailored to the athlete’s foot.
The silhouette features Zellerfeld’s proprietary TPU that is both soft and durable, with the design resembling a performance basketball sneaker. Brown employed two veterans of the footwear industry, Geoff Deas and Sean O’Shea, to help with creative development of the model. Both worked with ANTA to bring Kyrie Irving to the brand, and now are employed full-time by Off-White.
As mentioned above, Jaylen Brown’s 741 and Zellerfeld are actively developing this new 3D-printed model and using this V1 iteration as a starting point for more innovations in the performance footwear space. Don’t expect to see this available to the public anytime soon.
