New York-based artist and designer Jae Tips is set to collaborate with renowned footwear brand Saucony for a fresh take on the Grid Azura 2000. Combining Jae Tips' creative prowess with Saucony's rich heritage in athletic footwear, this collaboration follows up the tease we saw earlier in the year with Jae Tips showcasing a Saucony Grid Shadow 2.
For Jae Tips’ take on the Saucony Grid Azura 2000, the artist brings a blend of premium materials and bold colors that are sure to turn heads. An array of colors take over the model's various suede and mesh panels, with bright blues featured on the toe and heel, purples on the midfoot, and a red and pink combo on the toebox and tongue, respectively. Faux zebra fur appears on the Saucony-branded logo along the midfoot, while a custom tongue tag appears in a similar black/white combo. Jae adds a his signature floral designalong the suede panel running from the toe to the heel. While branding that's visible at first doesn’t nod to Jae, hidden details on the sockliner feature designs from the artist. Rounding out the design is the pink foam midsole and clear rubber outsole. All of this comes packaged in a special co-branded box.
The Jae Tips x Saucony Grid Azura 2000 is set to release May 6 at a NYC popup, May 10 through Jae Tip's website, and a broader release expected in the coming weeks through Saucony and select retailers. The retail price for this collaboration is still to be announced.
