Jaden Smith, the multi-talented artist and actor, is no stranger to the sneaker world. Unlike his dad Will Smith and his well-established love for Air Jordans, Jaden prefers the Boston-based New Balance, with which Jaden's released a handful a designs since 2019. While releases have slowed, the last being in May 2022, Jaden previewed a new silhouette made in collaboration with his MSFTSrep label.
Following this tease, New Balance T-House confirmed the silhouette will be dubbed the MSFTSrep x New Balance 0.01. As for its design, it looks to be a fusion of several sneakers, including Smith's New Balance Vision Racer and the über-popular New Balance 550. This clean “White Black” colorway features an all-leather upper and minor hits of New Balance branding visible along the midfoot. Along the collar sits an accenting black leather that pops amongst the white panels surrounding it. MSFTSrep branding gets placed on the medial side, below the New Balance branding on the heel, and on the left insole. Underfoot, the midsole features cut-away details near the forefoot and looks like the same rubber sole found on the NB 550.
Prior to the global launch of the silhouette, New Balance T-House in Japan have announced a free pre-launch event will take place on August 24, 2023 at the Trunk Hotel in Shibuya, Tokyo.
The MSFTSrep x New Balance 0.01 will release October 12, 2023 through New Balance and select retailers. The retail price is set at $110.
