Referees aren’t the only professionals in black and white stripes. No matter your relationship with sneaker culture, you’ve likely had an experience or two, or two dozen, at Foot Locker. Before the shoe game moved online, Foot Locker locations were the heartbeat of every suburban strip mall and shopping plaza. To this day, the stores are in cities around the globe while the brand’s online presence is booming.

Method Man’s Sneaker Love

To celebrate 50 years of Foot Locker, the retail giant debuted a new ad campaign called It Will Always Be Foot Locker, taking us through sneaker history with the help of Method Man and a little bit of color theory. Starting with red and white Air Force 1s made for the basketball court, the commercial goes through sneaker history with color in mind, always returning to the black and white uniforms of Foot Locker employees.

“As someone who has been part of sneaker culture for decades, this project felt personal,” said Method Man. “Sneakers have always been bigger than footwear. They represent where you’re from, what inspires you, and the moments that shape you. That’s what makes this campaign so authentic. It celebrates the culture that’s brought people together for generations while reminding us that the next chapter is still being written.”
