The Ice Cream Boardflip was the sneaker that marked the mainstreaming of the streetwear industry. Taking the BBC/Ice Cream clothing phenomenon and meshing Pharrell and Nigo’s exclusive energy with Reebok’s massive production capacity, and an authentic skate ethos thanks to a pro team featuring heavyweights like Terry Kennedy and Jimmy Gorecki, Ice Cream Sneakers fit the energy of the times perfectly. Now, 20 years after the shoe debuted, Ice Cream is bringing the Boardflip back.

Announced in a collaborative Instagram post from BBC/Ice Cream, Reebok, and superstar rapper Don Toliver, the Ice Cream Boardflip is making its return at ComplexCon in Las Vegas this weekend, with only 500 pairs available. We first saw a preview of the green and pink retro pair from OG Ice Cream skater Jimmy Gorecki last week, but in the new post, Toliver also shows off another original yellow, maroon, and baby blue colorway on a private jet.

As more info about the release comes out, Gorecki has continued to reminisce about the OG Ice Cream skate team, dropping a gem about the first launch of the shoe on IG.

“Fun fact; Nino Scalia’s original idea for the skate team ads was that each rider was to work with Reebok to permit a skate spot of our dream,” Gorecki wrote. “Document both skate trick and lifestyle shots for each skater’s individual ad. Things moved quickly. Rented out the Supreme Fairfax location and popped out in Chris Robinson-directed music films. Pharrell pulled up in the pink lemonade boardflips before any of us had seen that color way.”

In the Instagram post announcing the ComplexCon drop, Ice Cream also says they’re bringing back a new skate team and that they’re just getting started, so if you can’t make it to Vegas, it should be only a matter of time before you can cop.
