The Round 2 founder spearheads the collaboration between Hot Wheels and adidas.
While his Nike days were short-lived, Sean Wotherspoon has found a welcoming home over at their rival, adidas. Different silhouettes under The Three Stripes have been given the SW treatment, from the Orketro to the Gazelle, though his latest collaboration is adding another player. With us already getting first looks at the Superturf Adventure, there's a lot more to the upcoming Hot Wheels x adidas Originals Collection by Sean Wotherspoon.
On the footwear side of this collection, the aforementioned Superturf Adventure gets a multi-color makeover with shades of white providing a break from the in-your-face design. Racing details and Hot Wheels branding are sprinkled throughout the eco-friendly silhouette on top of the special packaging the pair will call home. Also included is the classic Adilette Slide, coming in a sun-laden design featuring Hot Wheels branding written across the rays of light, though the base layer of marbled blue draws its inspiration from the sky.
For clothing, you’ll be dressing just like Sean with the jacket, tracksuit, shorts, shirt, bucket hat, and tote bag hammering home the vintage aesthetic. Co-branding between Hot Wheels, SW, and adidas come in the form of graphics, logos, and patches. Matching the sun theme, all the pieces, sans the bucket hat, toe bag, and t-shirt, come in a variety of blue hues while the other pieces get a neutral cream and/or white shade.
The Hot Wheels x adidas Originals Collection by Sean Wotherspoon saw a release through Round 2 and adidas Confirmed on August 18th, 2022 with a global release through select retailers online and in-store slated for August 25th. Pricing will range between $40 and $170 for apparel while the Superturf Adventure and Adilette Slide come in at $160 and $60 respectively.
