Hellstar set Vegas on fire over the weekend, launching its first footwear collab on an adidas Superstar with graffiti graphics and flames burning off the back. The LA streetwear brand has been a staple in recent years with rappers, trappers, and Gen Z streetwear heads, but the Three Stripes co-sign is a major step for the young label. Adding more fuel to the flames, Hellstar surprised the city with a ComplexCon-exclusive white colorway that shock dropped on Sunday.
Following the same design as the black pair, the Vegas-exclusive switched out the upper for white leather, but kept the same light grey graffiti hits, fire illustration on the midsole, and extended side panel flames. This time around, the shoe also got hits of neon green on the custom heel tags and behind the flame panels. The two pairs of laces come in black with neon green script and white with black script, and last but not least, the exposed stitching overlays glow under blacklight.
Hellstar is just one of a handful of young streetwear brands adidas tapped to remake the Shell Toe, joined by Sp5der, Dios, and Menace to revive the Superstar silhouette. A classic since the days of Run-DMC, the Superstar has taken a backseat to slimmer silhouettes like the Samba and Ballerina lately, but for 2026, our money is on a major Superstar revival.
Unless you were in Vegas over the weekend, you won’t have a shot at copping the white pair of the Hellstar x adidas Superstars for retail, but we are hopeful for a wide release of the original black colorway. Still, there isn’t much info on that release yet, either, but you can be the first to find out more as soon as we know it by downloading the Sole Retriever mobile app.
