Hellstar Teases adidas Superstar Collab

Streetwear, like sneakers, has changed with the times. From the early days of Stussy and Fuct to the heyday of Supreme, Huf, and The Hundreds, and modern staples like ALD and Kith, the industry has always reflected shifts in the culture. No matter what era you’re from, you’ve probably heard of Hellstar. The LA-based brand has become the Zoomer king of the streetwear industry, showing up on rappers and athletes and garnering insane resale prices. Diving even further into the mainstream, Hellstar teased a new collaboration this week, teaming up with adidas for a Superstar and one other TBD silhouette.

Covered in black with red and smoke white accents, the hellish vibes are clear from the rip. Despite the dark coloring, the shoe is full of graphic accents, with flames hanging off the back of the Three Stripes like wings, smoke billowing up from the sole, a screaming face on the medial heel, and “No Guts No Glory” and “Coexist” written in the same smoke-style graffiti.
Visible stitching is added around the Three Stripes and the heel counter, with a layer of red peeking out underneath the lace protection panels. The tongue gets a bunch of extra padding with an indented shape that looks like devil horns. Hellstar logos are prominent on the tongue and a heel tag that flags out from the back of the shoe. Not to be left out, the laces feature interchanging Hellstar and Trefoil graphics. It’s a lot.
The current iteration of the streetwear market is split between bold, graphic-heavy designs and subtle, silhouette-obsessed brands - the shoe makes it very clear which side of the fence Hellstar sits on. The quick look is all we’ve seen so far, but if we know anything about Hellstar, the hype is only gonna get hotter as more info comes out.
