Australia’s HAL Studios explores the Architecture of Everyday Life with Asics Gel-NYC 2.0 Pack

From Down Under to the Big Apple, John Bouquet’s HAL Studios has had its hands in some of the industry’s most unique sneaker partnerships. Coming fresh off a pack of retro adidas’, HAL is heading across the ocean to New York City for a contemplation of city life with the help of longtime collaborator Asics.

The HAL Studios x Asics Gel-NYC 2.0 Architecture of Everyday Life Pack is a two-colorway collection inspired by the daily distractions of America’s biggest city. Debuted on Instagram alongside an artistic slideshow of film photos taken around the city, the two colorways are yellow and black and brown and silver, both done in a classic Asics mesh runner construction.

Over the years, HAL Studios has partnered with Asics to redesign the Gel-1130 and Gel-Kayano 20, but this is the first time the brand has had a hand in debuting an all-new silhouette. The sequel to the popular Asics Gel-NYC features a similar construction, with a more streamlined look than the OG and oval-shaped paneling on the heel.

The HAL Studios x Asics Gel-NYC 2.0 Architecture of Everyday Life Pack will be released doesn’t have a firm release date yet, but in the IG preview, the brand noted that it would arrive sometime in 2026. For all the latest Asics collab news, download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
