Crocs has become a go-to collaborator for pop culture, consistently tapping into some of the biggest franchises and trends. Whether it’s the recent horror-themed collection featuring iconic films like Friday The 13th and IT or previous drops featuring popular animated characters, Crocs is showing no signs of slowing down. The brand’s next venture takes them into the digital realm, teaming up with the mega-popular battle royale game Fortnite. The Fortnite x Crocs collection will spotlight two of the game’s most recognizable elements: the Peely skin and the Battle Bus. Alongside this Crocs collab, Fortnite is teaming up with adidas next year on footwear and apparel and has previously worked with Nike on multiple in-game events.
While official images have yet to surface of both pairs, the collection will likely feature colorful graphics inspired by the Peely character and the iconic Battle Bus. Fans can expect Crocs to bring these in-game elements to life through creative designs, likely utilizing all-over prints and detailed Jibbitz charms. The Peely edition should focus on the character’s vibrant yellow hue, while the Battle Bus version is expected to incorporate blue and grey tones to match the in-game vehicle. Both pairs will likely showcase co-branded logos from Fortnite and Crocs and other details that match the game.
Following news the collection was releasing, images of the Battle Bus and Peely colorways appeared online. On the Battle Bus rendition, the Croslite foam upper comes in a purplish-blue hue similar to the Battle Bus in-game, while we see the sports mode strap features details found on the bus itself. On the spine of the heel tab is a back bling that contains a V-Bucks logo. Jibbitz charms on the toe include Kevin the Cube, a shield potion, a loot llama, a crate, and a license plate that says "DROPP1N," referencing dropping from the Battle Bus. Final details include the rust midsole containing Fortnite branding on the heel and a black outsole.
Finally, the Peely edition faithfully recreates the iconic skin into a Croc. We see a btown Croslite foam cover the upper with a removeable "banana skin" shroud covering the majority of the upper. Peely's face is placed on the footbed, while the phrase "Nana Nana" is attached to the buttons holding the sports mode strap in place. Final details include the Fortnite logo attached to the spine of the sports mode strap, a bone-like structure on the sidewall, and a yellow outosle.
The Fortnite x Crocs Collection was originally set to release on September 24, 2024. However, the collection has been delayed to October 29. All pairs will be available through Crocs and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s and GS sizing, the retail price is set at $70 for both pairs.
