Jordan Brand Samples Every Original Air Jordan 1 High Colorway on the Jordan 1 High 85

Having been released 40 years ago, the Air Jordan 1 has seen hundreds of different releases and colorways. However, the original 16 colorways will always hold a special place in the hearts of collectors and sneakerheads. Even more coveted than a standard retro of these pairs is the Air Jordan 1 High 85, a variant of the Jordan 1 that replicates the original construction and shape of the AJ 1 from 1985. To honor the model’s 40th birthday, Jordan Brand has made samples of every single original colorway of the Air Jordan 1 in this ‘85 build.
While we did see videos emerge on social media last week of this display inside Nike’s HQ in Beaverton, Oregon, Rowan Hardial Jr., a Senior Product Line Manager for Jordan Brand, took to social media to share images of all 16 pairs of the Air Jordan 1 High 85.

Each pair features the new build for the ‘85 cut that debuted on the Bred colorway earlier this year, which is even closer to the OG than the previously released colorways. So far, the Bred, Metallic Burgundy, Black White, and Neutral Grey are the only original colorways released to the public in the ‘85 cut.
Some of these samples found their way online before this showcase, as friends and family of Jordan Brand have received some colorways. This includes Chase B, Travis Scott’s close friend and DJ, who shared images of the Royal colorway at the start of the year; Hiroshi Fujiwara from fragment design, who was spotted wearing the UNC colorway; and artist Julian Gaines, who posted images of the Chicago.
Eventually, we will get all 16 original Jordan 1 colorways on the ‘85 cut, but that will take quite some time if Jordan Brand continues its release method. Typically, we see the ‘85 cut release once a year and flip between a sample and an OG colorway, but with 2025 being so special for the model, we’re getting two releases, the Bred and the upcoming Shadow 2.0.
