Hiroshi Fujiwara Spotted Wearing the Air Jordan 1 High 85 UNC

Air Jordan 1 fatigue is real, as over the last few years, Jordan Brand has spammed colorways of Michael Jordan’s first signature model onto the market. While the label has realized its errors and reduced AJ 1s, OG pairs will always hold a special place in the hearts of collectors and sneakerheads, especially in the ‘85 cut. Fresh off the release of the Reimagined UNC, the colorway that dates back to the silhouette’s origins has emerged in an ‘85 cut.
Pictured here on the feet of fragment design founder and frequent Jordan collaborator Hiroshi Fujiwara, the Air Jordan 1 High 85 UNC features an updated cut and construction that more closely aligns with the model’s original build from 40 years back. The colorblocking and color palette remain identical to the OG, featuring powder blue hues on the leather mudguard, eyestays, collar, heel, and Swoosh. White is utilized on the toe, tongue, midfoot panel, collar underlay, and midsole.

Jordan Brand’s current strategy regarding the OG colors of the Jordan 1 is to release “reimagined” versions of the normal Jordan 1 Retro High OG but save a true 1:1 retro for the ‘85 variant. We saw this with the Bred colorway, which was released in Reimagined form in 2021 and then in the ‘85 cut earlier this year, and we will continue to see this with future original AJ 1 colors.
Jordan Brand has manufactured ‘85 versions of the Air Jordan 1 in multiple original colorways for the brand's friends and family, as we’ve seen imagery of both the Royal and Chicago color schemes pop up in 2025. With that in mind, we’ll wait a few years before we get the Air Jordan 1 High 85 UNC as a proper retail release.
