Engineered Garments x Vans is Back with More Mismatched Authentics

Daiki Suzuki’s New York City fashion brand Engineered Garments has collaborated with Vans for over a decade, returning sporadically without warning to drop subtle, premium versions of the classic skate shoes. Mixing formal with functional and embracing looks that are just slightly off, Engineered Garments and OTW by Vans are back to continue an asymmetrical theme from past collabs, dropping two new pairs of mismatched Authentic slip-ons.
The Engineered Garments x OTW by Vans collab was inspired by an archival Vans ad showing two skaters, one goofy, one regular, wearing mismatched Authentics that they traded to extend the life of the pairs. Each pair in the collaboration features two different colored shoes, a black/navy pair and a red/blue pair, with the toebox and side panels trading colors to incorporate both colors in each pair. Both pairs get a white midsole with a black foxing stripe for a classic Vans look.
“We wanted to look back and focus on the past, not only within our partnership but to what we knew of Vans,” Suzuki said. “Taking an impactful image and incorporating colorblocking, a signature of Engineered Garments, onto our favorite Slip-On.”
In addition to its history with Vans, Engineered Garments has collaborated with brands across the sneaker industry, bringing the simple yet thoughtful and elegant style to partnerships with Reebok and Clarks.
The Engineered Garments x OTW by Vans Authentic Pack will be released on August 28, 2025, through select Vans retailers in-store and online. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $100 per pair.
