These Harris Tweed Vans Authentics are Sweaters for Your Feet

Over the years, Vans has taken its classic skate silhouettes and transformed the material to take on new life apart from the brand’s canvas legacy, from faux fur to stingray leather and everything in between. The latest pack of Vans Authentic is on its way to a master's degree, covered in four different patterns of Harris Tweed wool.
First seen on an Instagram post from Vans employee Ricki Dai by way of four individual shoes, two are plaid tweed, while the other two are finished in herringbone tweed. The two plaid shoes get slightly brighter colors, mixing squares and stripes of baby blue, pale gold, green, brown, and cream for a classic wool sweater look. The herringbone shoes are just as traditional, coming in black and cream with green accents, and brown, black, and burgundy.

Harris Tweed, produced exclusively in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland, is the crème de la crème of tweed. Harris Tweed has been hand-woven by island locals since 1846, with the governing body synonymous with fine wool cloth. The Vans Authentic pack gets Harris Tweed tags on the tongue and, if the preview photos carry through to retail, a paper hangtag with more details about the brand and fabric.

It is not clear if the four individual shoes are part of four pairs or two pairs of mismatched tweed, but we’re leaning towards four pairs. No release date or further info is available as of yet, but we’ll keep you posted as soon as we hear more.
