We all heard the cries coming from social media about wanting footwear brands to sell products via pre-order when it was nearly impossible to cop any sneaker for retail. While the days of instant sellouts for virtually anything remotely hype are long gone, there’s still room for the pre-order system that many wanted years back in today’s sneaker landscape. The latest shoe to be offered via a pre-order comes from Nike’s .SWOOSH label on the upcoming Swooshman-themed GT Future.

The pair itself pays homage to the ill-fated Nike mascot Swooshman, who was only around for a brief period in the late ‘90s, as the GT Future comes coated in a blue-ish metallic silver hue like his suit. Contrasting this reflective upper are hits of red on the Swooshes found on the lateral and medial sides and the Swooshman logo on the tongue. Final details include a purple internal bootie and a semi-translucent outsole featuring more Swooshman details.

RELEASE UPDATE: Nike GT Future “Swooshman” pre-orders on SNKRS open March 20th 🗓️

It’s not a surprise that .SWOOSH is offering pre-orders for the Swooshman GT Future, as previous releases from the once-web3-focused brand have also been offered this way. Last year, the .SWOOSH x Nike Air Max 1 Big Head Mode GoldenEye 007 was released via a pre-order, with pairs shipped roughly 3-4 months later. There was also the ultra-limited GT Future in the Fire colorway, with only 300 pairs offered via a .SWOOSH pre-order that shipped around 3 months later.

Outside of the .SWOOSH platform, Nike has offered pre-orders via the SNKRS Reserve program, starting with the Nike Kobe 3 Christmas in August, and most recently with a Seattle Seahawks varsity jacket that dropped after the team won Super Bowl LX. We also can’t forget the Tom Sachs shoes that have been released this way, including the Mars Yard 3.0 and the consolation prize if you missed out on that pair, the General Purpose Participation Shoe.

The .SWOOSH x Nike GT Future Swooshman will be released via a pre-order on the Nike SNKRS App on March 20, 2026. Exactly how long it will be before Nike sends pairs out is a mystery, but based on previous .SWOOSH pre-orders, it's safe to assume it will be 3-4 months. Retail is set at $190.
