Mizuno may not carry the same hype brands like Nike or adidas have, though they produce high-quality, comfortable footwear that rivals many mainstream footwear labels. Introducing its latest silhouette in the Wave Rider series, the Wave Rider Beta, Mizuno has begun to team up with various collaborators to bring attention to its latest design. Already working with BEAMS on the silhouette, Japanese fashion label Digawel has been tapped for a collaborative capsule featuring apparel and a Mizuno Wave Rider Beta.
Inspired by 90s-style trekking gear and Boy Scout culture, Digawel brings forth earthy tones and neutral shades with hits of vibrant blue. The upper is constructed with suede, mesh, and leather, with grey suede on the toebox and heel and earthy browns on the midfoot panels. The Mizuno logo on the midfoot is in a bright blue hue, while the sockliner and tongue accent feature tonal browns. A co-branded logo of both brands is present on the insole, while we see the size tag, typically found on the inside of the sneaker, placed along the center of the tongue. The sneaker's stacked Mizuno Energy-cushioned midsole comes in two shades of blue and brown, with a green shank plate sandwiched between. A tonal tan rubber outsole completes the look of this unique sneaker.
The Digawel x Mizuno Wave Rider Beta will be released on April 22nd through Mizuno, Digawel, and select Japanese retailers online and in-store. The sneaker will be available in men's sizing for 30,800 yen (approximately $230 USD). Stay tuned to our Twitter and the Sole Retriever mobile app for the latest updates on this and other upcoming releases.
