BAPE is Reviving the SKULL STA for New Def-Jam Collab

Before BAPE was a partner with sportswear giant adidas, the Japanese streetwear legends were known for making shoes riffing off popular models like Air Force 1s and Superstars. Now, with plenty of real Superstar collabs in the BAPE archive, the brand is back with its own interpretation, reviving the SKULL STA silhouette for a new collaborative collection with Def Jam records.
The Def Jam x BAPE SKULL STA pack features two colorways with a reworked ABC camo upper with Def Jam logos, turntables, and other hip-hop iconography worked in throughout. The camo pattern is done in black, white and grey, and then a fall-ready brown and tan colorway. Both shoes add white to the tongue label, laces, star logo, midsole, and Def Jam Enterprises hit on the lateral heel. The rubber toebox riffing off the adidas shell toe is also done in white, with a molded skull graphic popping out proudly.
Dropping 10 years after the first Def Jam x BAPE collab, this is the first time the legendary fashion label and record label have joined forces on footwear. In addition to the SKULL STAs, the Def Jam collab features zip-up shark hoodies and camo t-shirts with the same custom Def Jam camo pattern. In classic Def Jam fashion, the collection debuted with an editorial shoot featuring Redman and Onyx.
