Beantown Born: Concepts Celebrate 50 Years of the Birkenstock Boston with New Felt Collection Colors

Birkenstock might have started as a German clog brand, but in the modern era, the brand’s most famous shoe brings up immediate thoughts of Massachusetts. The Birkenstock Boston Clog, the open-backed staple at home and on the street, celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2026, so it only makes sense to ring in the half-century birthday with a true Boston original, local sneaker boutique Concepts.

The latest Concepts x Birkenstock Boston Felt Collection is the fourth iteration of the extra-warm collab, following an initial Boston series a few years back and collections of Kyoto and Arizona sandals. Dropping in two colors, Orange and Graphite, Concepts brings soft felt wool to the upper, natural veg-tanned leather straps, and a suede footbed and lining.

The brands brought the seasonal vibes to life to kick off the latest collab, sending models to the snow to show off the cozy collection next to toasted marshmallows and a cabin fireplace. With the East Coast taking on its first heavy snow of the year over the weekend, the winter-ready slip-on collab arrives at the perfect time.

The Concepts x Birkenstock Boston Felt Collection will be released December 17, 2025 through Concepts, Birkenstock, and select retailers in-store and online.
