COMME des GARÇONS HOMME is Bringing Back the New Balance 1226

The inevitable progress of running technology creates rapid turnover in the performance space, and with so many archival models to pick from, it's inevitable that the cream of the crop rises to retro stardom in due time. At New Balance, the brand has made a living off the concept.

The 1226 is Back in Style

The latest back-to-the-future push from the Boston-based brand teams up with COMME des GARÇONS HOMME for a retro take on the 1226 runner. Arriving for a perfectly timed debut at Paris Fashion Week, the latest CDG NB collab mixes soft earth tones across the mesh and suede upper.

Featuring a base of extra-wide knit brown mesh, the debut retro colorway adds soft black suede to the toe, heel, and side panel structure, with grey on the side panel “N” logo, and a hit of midnight blue suede on the heel. A COMME des GARÇONS HOMME logo is added to the tongue tag, but otherwise the collab branding is relatively lowkey.
