Although Kevin Durant is no longer on the Oklahoma City Thunder roster, the team has a new lanky big man running up and down the court in the form of Chet Holmgren. Funny enough, Chet grew up idolizing KD, and has worn his Nike KD sneakers throughout his professional career in the NBA. Durant clearly took notice, and shouted out Chet during his rookie year in 2022 for rocking his sneakers. Their relationship has grown to the point where Chet is now getting his own player-exclusive versions of KD’s sneakers, previously previewing the “Thunder & Reign” KD 18 that will release early next year. Joining this pair is a new camo-covered rendition that Holmgren debuted last night.

Leaning into the camo-heavy aesthetic that’s come from The Swoosh in recent months, Chet adds a woodland camo with olive green and safety orange tones accenting the print. Camo is applied to the Air Terra Humara-inspired midfoot cage, the top of the tongue, and the collar, with all of these panels featuring orange hits reminiscent of a hunter’s vest. Brown and olive make up the rest of the upper, with brown mesh and olive suede paneling found throughout. Underfoot sits an olive green foam midsole, which encapsulates the Zoom Air cushioning, and a gum rubber outsole.

The Oklahoma City Thunder took the W last night against the Golden State Warriors, and Chet’s PE definitely had some effect on his game. He finished the evening with 21 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 block. However, he wasn’t the only player to bust out some eye-catching kicks, as new sneaker free agent Steph Curry laced up the Nike Air Zoom Flight The Glove (even though he’s injured and can’t check in).
