Toucan Sam Swoops in on Chelsea Gray's Froot Hoops adidas Dame 9 PE
Las Vegas Aces Point Gawd Chelsea Gray had breakfast for dinner this week, unveiling a new Player Edition adidas Dame 9 paying homage to her favorite cereal, Froot Loops.
The custom Dame 9 features a clean white upper that gives way to a teal collar, a bright pink inner bootie, and hot pink laces. The Three Stripes on the lateral and medial sides get a two-tone treatment in pink with teal tips, while the white of the toebox is broken up by Gray’s nickname “Point Gawddddd” spelled out in pink. The sole of the sneaker really steals the show, mixing an icy blue base with an all-over print Froot Loops graphic.
Like so many recent WNBA PEs, the packaging elevates the exclusive sneaker even further. Gray was presented the pair in a faux cereal box complete with a rainbow-beaked toucan, font-flipped “Point Gawd” labels, her name, and adidas logos with the tagline “Follow Your Nose to The Hoop” and “You Got This” written on the inner flap. Of course, the box was full to the brim with real Froot Loops so Gray could snack a little while she unpacked the pair.

Chelsea Gray’s adidas Dame 9 Froot Hoops PEs saw the court for the first time on Wednesday in a home win for the Aces against the New York Liberty. Gray dropped 13 points and a team-high 5 assists in the victory, so we’re guessing we’ll see them again very soon.
