While you may not have heard of Boston-based streetwear brand Brain Child just yet, your favorite brands most definitely have. Launched in 2018, Brain Child has since collaborated with the likes of Hidden NY, VANDY THE PINK, Concepts, and Sneaker Politics across different clothing items, but sneakers… that’s uncharted territory for the label. That is, until now, as Brain Child has just announced its dropping an ultra-limited Reebok DMX Series 3000 as its debut footwear project.

While you might be familiar with Reebok’s DMX technology and ‘90s models that used the cushioning, the DMX Series 3000 is a brand-new sneaker from the brand. Reebok reimagined the OG DMX Miramar and brought it to the present day with a new upper, so far dropping a handful of collabs and inline colorways. However, Brain Child’s take on the sneaker is probably the best yet.

A sunset gradient akin to something LORENZ.OG would use on his custom sneakers takes over the mesh portions of the upper, starting in yellow on the toe, transitioning into orange and then red and purple as you move back. Brain Child branding is stamped on the heel tab of the left shoe, while a Reebok logo is found on the right. Finishing the shoe is a two-tone black and white sole unit.

Brain Child’s Reebok DMX Series 3000 Red Nebula will be released on May 8 at MassArt via a first-come, first-served release. The pair will be limited to just 150 units.
