The 68th annual Grammy Awards took place last night, and Bad Bunny walked away with some major hardware. While he was pigeonholed into Latin categories in years prior, Benito broke through to earn himself the coveted Album of the Year award for his 2025 album Debí Tirar Más Fotos, marking the first time a Latin artist has won the trophy. In celebration of this massive win, Bad Bunny shock-dropped his first signature sneaker with adidas, the adidas BadBo 1.0, on his website this morning.

Available right now as of this writing, the adidas BadBo 1.0 Brown was first previewed on the feet of Bad Bunny months ago when he was filming a commercial for adidas in Miami alongside Lionel Messi. Since then, we’ve seen a few in-hand previews of other colorways, like the Resilience and Rise renditions. Benito and adidas also teased the model during The Archive: Puerto Rico Para El Mundo. La Historia de Una Collab exhibit in Puerto Rico last August, obscuring the model via some frosted glass.

This specific colorway comes covered in brown suede, one in a dark brown fuzzy finish and another short-haired and lighter, while cream perforated leather sits on the base below. Signature details from previous Bad Bunny collabs, like the “adidas para bad bunny” text on the insole and the stitched tongue tag make their mark on the model. While not present on this pair, Bad Bunny has his own signature logo with adidas, but this colorway replaces it on the heel with the number “1994.” That’s the year Benito was born, so it’s either a nod to this or it also denotes how limited the pair is.

While Benito and adidas are celebrating his Grammy win with this shock drop, there’s also next Sunday’s Super Bowl performance to look forward to. Without a doubt, the Puerto Rican megastar will take the stage in a pair of his adidas signature sneakers, and hopefully we get another shock drop to commemorate his time on the stage.

It’s also important to note how rare it is for a non-athlete to get a signature sneaker with a sneaker company, with the only other active signature line from a non-athlete being Travis Scott’s Jordan Jumpman Jack over at Jordan Brand. The Three Stripes has dabbled with plenty of artists getting their own one-off models, like Kid Cudi, and of course Kanye West’s Yeezy line, but this seems to be one of the first true “signature sneakers” for a recording artist at the German sportswear brand.

The Bad Bunny x adidas BadBo 1.0 Earth Strata is available now via Bad Bunny’s website, though it’s possible we see a wider release via adidas at a later date. Retail is set at $160.
