Sometimes sneaker collabs arrive in our consciousness just before or at the time of arrival, immediately drawing hype, but when it comes to high fashion, the timeline is typically a little more drawn out. What starts as hype during fashion week previews is often pushed to the back burner for a season or two, only to reappear before release with newfound excitement.
The AURALEE x New Balance 204L Collection first appeared on our radar nearly a year ago, in June of last year at Paris Fashion Week. Seen on foot during and in a quick set of outdoor preview pictures on AURALEE’s trip to France, the Japanese label’s latest New Balance collab is finally set to hit shelves this summer.
Dropping in two colorways, Brown and Cream, the Cream pair mixes leather paneling with a mesh base, while the Brown colorway mixes suede and soft nubuck, getting rid of the mesh paneling altogether. AURALEE co-branding is subtly added to the insoles, but otherwise, the shoes get standard 204L logo hits and NB branding on the tongue.
