MJ’s latest signature sneaker debuts in the fall.
The Air Jordan 37, the latest game shoe from Jordan Brand for Michael Jordan is here. After leaking in early June in “Light Bone” and “Hare” iterations, we now have the official scoop on the AJ 37.
Made with the future of the game in mind, the Air Jordan 37 is the ultimate performance sneaker. Built for multidirectional play, limiting support zones to where needed. A new Lenoweave, called Arkema, is featured on the upper. This monofilament yarn is both pliable and strong, the best yet. Inspired by the Air Jordan 7, the tooling pays homage to hand-shaped craftsmanship of West African basket weaving. Support zones in the upper are reminiscent of the layered exoskeleton found on the classic Nike Air Huarache, molded after ankle tape and sandal straps.
On the technical side of things, the Air Jordan 37 focuses on three key stages of jumping: crash, load, and launch. A TPU mold encasing the all-new Formula 23 foam is found on the heel, made to absorb the shock from striking down to the floor, the crash element. Formula 23, announced with the unveiling of the Jordan Luka 1, is one of the most sustainable, responsive, and lightweight foam made by Nike to-date.
Transferring motion from the heel through the midfoot, the load phase brings a carbon fiber shank plate back to the Air Jordan signature line for the first time since the AJ 32. Rounding things out for the launch aspect, aka the moment of liftoff, is a Zoom Air strobel unit with an additional double-stacked unit in the forefoot. Two colorways will kick things off, the “Beyond Borders” edition, previously known as “Light Bone,” followed by the “Hare” colorway. Expect some special edition pairs inspired by various Jordan Brand members and collabs to release during the Air Jordan 37s run from Fall 2022 well into 2023.
The Air Jordan 37 Beyond Borders is currently set to release on September 15th, 2022, followed by the Hare edition on September 29th. It will drop at Nike, via the SNKRS app, and select Jordan Brand retailers worldwide, both in-store and online. Coming in men and gradeshool sizing, retail is set at $185 for men and $140 for GS.
