The adidas Samba has not only stood the test of time but also evolved to remain a staple in the world of sneakers. With a staggering 500% surge in demand over the past year, the Samba's classic design has been embraced by a new generation, leading to innovative reinterpretations such as the adidas Samba XLG. As the year draws to a close, adidas is set to unveil yet another iteration that promises to keep the legacy alive: the adidas Samba 2.0. This updated version of the shoe arrives amid anticipation fueled by recent leaks of collaborative designs, including those with Hello Kitty and Ksenia Schnaider.
The Samba 2.0 is a respectful nod to its heritage, maintaining the silhouette's core design elements while introducing a fresh perspective. Four colorways are slated to lead its debut: the timeless Black White and White Black, alongside the vibrant White Better Scarlet and the sporty White Collegiate Green. Each pair boasts a premium leather construction that exudes quality and comfort, while suede embellishments adorn the toe's T-shaped overlay, adding texture and depth. The Three Stripes on the midfoot are not just placed but intricately embroidered, demonstrating adidas' commitment to craftsmanship.
One of the most striking features of the Samba 2.0 is its robust platform sole, setting it apart from previous iterations. This chunky base is finished with a gum color, which not only enhances the sneaker's aesthetic with its crepe-like appearance but also ensures it remains versatile for a various of styles and occasions.
The adidas Samba 2.0 will release in December 2023 through adidas and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in unisex sizing, the retail price has yet to be announced.
