Dia De Los Muertos Campus Collection Bakes Up Pan De Muerto Colorways

In Mexican culture, Dia de los Muertos or Day of the Dead is an annual tradition that takes place at the end of October or beginning of November to celebrate the memory of the deceased. The holiday is celebrated by setting up altars containing offerings for passed relatives, coming together with family, and of course, plenty of food, including Pan de Muerto, a sweet bread loaf made specifically for the festivity.
This year, adidas is celebrating the fall holiday with a two-pack of Pan de Muerto Campus 00s, designing the skate shoe-inspired silhouette in two tan brown colorways full of references. Both the men’s and women’s colorways feature sugar skull lace dubraes and custom paper packaging that is designed to be repurposed as holiday decorations.
The men’s pair takes the freshly baked tan suede upper and covers it with a white speckled all-over print to replicate the sugar granules on top of Pan de Muerto, adds black stripes to the side, and finishes it with a purple sugar skull on the tongue and a bone-shaped detail that is traditional to Pan de Muerto running down the back of the heel. The women’s pair starts with the same tan suede base and white sugar print, but trades the black accents for pink, a mainstay in Mexican pastries like concha.

Dia de los Muertos has been celebrated by the sneaker industry for years now, with adidas, Nike, and more releasing annual colorway packs to recognize the holiday. This isn’t the first time the Campus 00 has been included in a Dia de los Muertos drop, either, showing up in the 2023 pack in pumpkin orange. Still, the most hyped and sought-after Dia de los Muertos shoe will forever be the 2006 Dia de los Muertos Nike Dunk SB.
The Campus 00 Dia de los Muertos pack will be released in September 2025 ahead of the holiday through adidas retailers in-store and online, with both pairs retailing for $120.
