A’ja Wilson Shares Custom Red Ruby Slipper Nike A’One Colorway

WNBA fans in Europe are in for a treat in a few weeks when A’ja Wilson kicks off her first overseas tour as a Nike signature athlete. Wilson is embarking on this trip in the lead-up to the rollout of her second model, the Nike A’Two, which we know is expected to drop in the coming months. Yes, we’re all focused and desperately waiting for a first glimpse at the A’Two, but A’ja just posted probably one of the coolest Nike A’One PEs to date over the weekend.

In a video posted to her Instagram story, A’ja pulls out a vibrant red pair of Nike A’Ones from a box and shares an in-hand look at the sneaker. The Royal Flame colorway, which is the base for this custom, did hit shelves in November, but this specific version has been customized with rhinestones, almost like the ruby red slippers worn by Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz.

Nike released an ultra-limited Nike SB Dunk Low directly inspired by the footwear, but A’ja’s custom pair doesn’t venture far from the original colorway. The base of the upper, the heel tab, and the Nike Swoosh are covered in rhinestones that match the respective layer below.
