Ja Morant marked a first in Nike’s history as the Memphis Grizzlies star became the first Gen Z athlete in the company to receive a signature sneaker. This kicked off with the Nike Ja 1 in 2023, followed by the Ja 2, which launched a few months back near the end of 2024. While the model is bound for multiple makeovers in the new year, including a $550 Swarovski-covered colorway and a pair honoring Morant’s AAU team Twelve Time, a new Exposure rendition has just appeared.
This latest rendition of Morant’s second signature model keeps things neutral across most of its design, as iron grey hues dominate throughout. Grey suede paneling adorns the mudguard and extends halfway up the eyelets while the lateral midfoot transitions into a synthetic molded material. On the opposite side, a mesh base sits, continuing with the iron grey theme.
More of this darker grey shade lands on the mesh toe, tongue, and lace set, while the top of the tongue tag offers a break from this monochromatic look. The left pair comes with Ja’s logo in a dark black shade, while the right pair features the logo in a bright crimson finish. Further accents appear on the Swoosh, with the lateral side taking on a synthetic finish in a worn-in blue look, while the medial side comes in a blue embroidered look.
Final details on the upper include light bone accents on the quilted heel overlay and split-colored 12 AM branding on the heel tab, which is bright crimson on the left pair and blue on the right. Down below, the grey and light bone midsole contains Zoom Air cushioning, while the grey rubber outsole has a traction pattern inspired by the tires Morant used when training as a child in his backyard.
