Nike's latest iteration of the increasingly popular Space Hippie series has arrived and is slated for a mid-summer release. Scheduled to drop on Thursday August 20th, the Nike Space Hippie 01 Black Wheat is constructed of at least 50% recycled material by weight, hence Nike's message of "trash transformed." The upper of the sneaker features Nike's signature "Space Waste Yarn" - 90% recycled polyester comprised of recycled plastic bottles, shirts, and scraps of yarn. The beautiful and unique speckled midsole and wheat-colored signature Swoosh put the finishing touches on the sleek design.
