The Nike Kobe 5 Protro Undefeated What If Pack is set to release during Mamba Week 2020. Made in collaboration with Los Angeles-based retailer UNDFTD, this 2-shoe pack was made to commemorate the 1996 NBA Draft where Kobe Bryant was chosen 13th overall to the Charlotte Hornets, only to later be traded to the Los Angeles Lakers. First up we have the “Unlucky 13” edition. Inspired by the Charlotte Hornets, it features a white-based upper with teal and gold accents. Second is the “Dirty Dozen” edition. This pair draws inspiration from the twelve teams that passed on drafting Kobe Bryant. It comes in multi-color, made up of colors from each team that could’ve had the “Black Mamba.” Undefeated branding and custom printed insoles finish each pair off.
The Nike Kobe 5 Protro is an updated version of the classic Kobe Bryant signature sneaker that was originally released in 2009-10. Dubbed the “Protro” which stands for performance retro, this pair was made to be on-court, just like the original Kobe 5. It was designed by Eric Avar and was the second Kobe signature sneaker to debut as a low top.
The Undefeated x Nike Kobe 5 Protro “What If” Pack is set to release on August 27th, 2020. It will launch exclusively at Undefeated stores and undefeated.com for a retail price of $400. They will be available exclusively in men’s sizing, housed in special packaging.
