The Air Jordan 4 Retro “Red Thunder” is a new take on a modern-day classic. It is set to debut during Holiday 2021. Featuring the same color blocking as the “Thunder” Air Jordan 4 Retro, which was originally released in 2006 as an online exclusive and then again in 2012 for the first time in stores. This pair sports all-black nubuck upper, white “Jumpman” branding on the tongue tag, back heel tab and insoles. Red accents replacing “Tour Yellow” found on its muse are on the midsole, underneath the mesh, lace tabs, “Flight” script on the tongue tag and inner tongue finish things off.
This new colorway of the Air Jordan 4 Retro could very well pass as an original release from Michael Jordan’s playing days. The black and red color combo is always synonymous with his Chicago Bulls team colors. As a result, the “Red Thunder” iteration of his fourth signature sneaker re-imagines what another black and red color option might’ve looked like for His Airness to wear on-court in 1989. Could you imagine MJ rocking these on-court, possibly even as a player exclusive edition?
The Air Jordan 4 Retro Red Thunder was originally set to release on October 2nd. After a short delay, they will now be dropping as a GR (general release) on January 15th, 2022. This sneaker will launch via Nike & select stores for a retail price of $190 in men’s sizing. They will also be available in kids and gradeschool (GS) sizing for $140.
