Jordan Brand has given the world hundreds of colorways of the Jordan 1, with past releases often inspiring new renditions. As we look forward to new drops, including the Reimagined Black Toe and Reimagined UNC, the label will continue to remix classic colorways in new ways. Here, the iconic Bred Toe colorway gets a Ruby makeover.
With the Jordan 1 (and Jordan Brand as a whole) celebrating its 40th birthday, JB honored this occasion with inspiration from the gemstone traditionally used for 40th anniversaries — ruby. Distressed metallic varsity red leather is placed along the toebox, collar overlay, and heel overlay, contrasting the smooth leather on the rest of the upper. Classic Black Toe colorblocking is seen, with white leather appearing on the midfoot and black leather landing on the mudguard, Swoosh, and collar underlay.

This pair gives the Wings logo a makeover, opting for a 3D TPU design instead of the usual stamped finish. Other details on the silhouette include the black-on-black finish along the tongue, varsity red branding on the Nike Air logo atop the tongue, and tonal stitching throughout. Below, the model has a white rubber midsole and a red rubber outsole.
The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Ruby W will release in May 2025 through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store. In women’s, preschool, and toddler sizing, retail is $180, $85, and $70, respectively.
