About this shoe
After months of leaked images teasing the Air Jordan 1 Retro High Black Game Royal Toe, Nike loaded the sneakers right before the airing of episodes 3 and 4 of ESPN's Documentary "The Last Dance." Contrary to rumors that the sneaker would shock drop like "Fire Red" 5's, the sneaker did not and is set to release on May 9th.
Given the color scheme, the Air Jordan 1 Retro High Black Game Royal has drawn comparisons to Fujiwara's Air Jordan 1 "Fragment." Slight adjustments distinguish the Game Royal from the "Frag." The Game Royal toe box and more aggressive black leather framing that extends from the toe cap all the way through the collar and heel counter are the biggest differentiators. The white dressing the leather paneling and the Jordan Brand Wings on the heel complete the upper. For added contrast, white also makes up the rubber midsole and the stitching that pulls the sneaker together.
