The Air Jordan 9 Retro Chile Red re-imagines Michael Jordan’s ninth signature sneaker. Similar to the “Motorboat Jones” release in 2012, this pair also comes in a Chicago Bulls-like red and black color scheme. Featuring an all-red upper made of a quilted stitched leather upper with a patent leather mudguard. Black accents and outsole are finished off by a glossy midsole.
The Air Jordan 9 was originally released between 1993-94. It was the first signature sneaker made for Michael Jordan that he never got to originally wear on-court, due to his first retirement. Designed by Tinker Hatfield, they draw inspiration from Japanese design. When they were retroed for the first time in 2002, Michael Jordan finally got a chance to lace them up on-court, this time as a member of the Washington Wizards. Since then, the AJ 9 has been retroed numerous times and continues to dish out new and old colorways.
