The Air Jordan 12 Retro “Royalty Taxi” is a new iteration of the original debut colorway of the AJ XII. It is a part of Jordan Brand’s Holiday 2021 release lineup. Staying very true to the OG, they feature a white-based genuine leather upper with a faux-lizard print mudguard. Metallic gold hits on the eyelets, midsole, “Jumpman” branding on the insoles and back heel tag as well as down the tongue. Subtle hits of white branding throughout complete the look.
This is the second new take on the “Taxi” Air Jordan 12. 2017 saw them as a part of Jordan Brand’s Chinese New Year Collection, made to commemorate the year of the rooster. That pair sported a white-based full 3M reflective upper in place of traditional leather. A basket-woven-textured mudguard, Chinese character detailing on the tongue and insoles, wood-textured accents as well as translucent hits on the bottom of the outsole finished that pair off. So while we continue to wait for a proper re-release of the original Air Jordan 12 “Taxi,” we have a very clean alternative in the 2021 “Royalty” edition.
The Air Jordan 12 Retro Royalty Taxi was originally set to release on October 9th.However, they will now be dropping as a GR (general release) on November 13th, 2021.
