The Nike SB Dunk High Strawberry Cough was made in collaboration with artist Todd Bratrud. A “420” edition, this pair draws inspiration from the weed strain of the same name. Coming in a university red, spinach green and magic emember colorway, the sneaker features a red-based upper with green accents and an ember colored toe. The forefoot of this pair is red with yellow dimples, like that found on the exterior seeds of the fruit. Meanwhile, the heel, Swooshes on the sides and ankle are covered in green hairy suede, like that of marijuana buds. A unique “Strawberry Cough” logo is found on the heel with custom printed insoles and a full translucent sole complete the look.
The Nike Dunk has been an iconic footwear staple ever since its debut as a basketball sneaker in the 1980s. Since then it has gone from the courts to the streets to action sports. With many iterations still being done to this day, the Nike Dunk is considered one of the most popular sneaker silhouettes of all-time. Its current popularity today is as prominent as it was over the last few decades, if not more.
The Nike SB Dunk High “Strawberry Cough” was originally set to release on April 20th, 2020 but was delayed. It was then set to drop in 2021 but was also pushed back with its official date of October 22nd, 2021 now set in stone. It will launch via Nike & select stores for a retail price of $100. They will be available exclusively in men’s sizing.
