Summoned in a Yugi-inspired color scheme.
Even though Yu-Gi-Oh! is almost three decades old, it's still considered by many as one of the most iconic mangas ever created. Written and illustrated by the late Kazuki Takahashi, who sadly passed away last Summer, the series has since spawned a media franchise that includes multiple spin-off comics, an anime series, a trading card game, and countless video games. Following the release of the first Yu-Gi-Oh! x adidas collection in October, we're now taking a closer look at the sequel, kicking it all off with the Yu-Gi-Oh! x adidas ADI2000 "Yugi's World." Inspired by the protagonist of the series, Yugi Moto, make sure you read on to find out everything that we know so far.
Taking on the 2000s-inspired skate shoe, this ADI2000 features a mesh, leather, and suede construction and is painted predominantly in black with purple accents throughout, nodding to Yugi's signature outfit. Gold accents hit the Three Stripe branding as a homage to his iconic spiky hairstyle, and more luxurious details come by the way of metallic dubraes which pay tribute to the manga series' Ancient Egyptian storyline. Elsewhere, the tongues are embroidered with "Time to Duel" and "King of Games," and around the heel, you'll find a single eye which is a symbol that plays a significant role throughout all 38 volumes of the tankobon.
Coming in a special edition shoebox that's made for all of the Yu-Gi-Oh! fans out there, the Yu-Gi-Oh! x adidas ADI2000 Yugi's World is set to release on January 26th, 2023 in men's sizes. Expected to drop at adidas and select retailers both online and in physical locations, they will retail for $120 each.
