After dropping the crossbones-covered 2022AW Collection just last month, Tetsu Nishiyama is back with another Vans collaboration, this time in the form of the WTAPS x Vans December 2022 Collection. Switching gears from skateboarding to snowboarding, the three-shoe collection combines the Tokyo imprint's signature militaristic sensibilities with the Anaheim label's iconic half pipe style.
Featuring the Coast CC NS LX, Standard Snow MTE, and HCHB, all three footwear options are painted in an earthy "Coyote" colorway. The Coast CC NS LX boasts a low-top design with a padded leather upper that's akin to Vans' more conventional models. The Standard Snow MTE, on the other hand, takes the military styling and direction to another level with a nubuck upper, chunky heel tabs, an insulated interior, and a sturdy rubber midsole. Lastly, the HCHB has been designed for the harshest conditions, with an extra hefty design, a Velcro ankle strap, rugged zips, and an ULTRACUSH unit underfoot that offers unrivaled comfort even during the most severe snowstorms. All three silhouettes are decorated with WTAPS x Vans co-branding and technical graphics to fall in line with the Japanese brand's utilitarian aesthetic.
The WTAPS x Vans December 2022 Collection releases on December 15th, 2022 in men's sizes at WTAPS, Vans, and select retailers worldwide. Retail is currently set at $155, $189, and $430, respectively.
