Crossovers between anime and sneakers have been going on for years, but 2025 might arguably have the best official collaboration of all time: Yu-Gi-Oh! x Nike. The two powerhouses are joining forces for a project on the Air Max 95, or should we say Air Muscle, in two different colorways.
In the Yu-Gi-Oh! universe, the Air Muscle is the equivalent to our Air Max 95, with Joey Wheeler purchasing a pair in the original manga for ¥100,000 (approx $680 USD today). Throughout the anime and manga, he sports the pair as well as other classic Nike sneakers.

Where to Buy the Yu-Gi-Oh! x Nike Air Max 95
The Yu-Gi-Oh! x Nike Air Max 95 is going to be quite limited. As of now, there are only two retailers releasing the sneaker in the US, BAIT in Los Angeles and Sole Play in Atlanta. Those of us who don't live near the two will have to try our luck on the Nike SNKRS app.
BAIT has announced it will be hosting a raffle at its Melrose storefront. You must sign up and enter a raffle for a timeslot to attend the live raffle on Friday, September 12, with winners being notified by the 11th. Getting selected to attend does not guarantee a pair of the shoes, but a spot at the live raffle.
Sole Play, who has quite the history with Nike's .SWOOSH division, which is taking charge of the marketing for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Air Max 95, has a special event planned for the release. A first-come, first-served release will take place on Saturday, September 13, at Sole Play's Decatur location. Alongside the FCFS drop, there will be multiple giveaways for the sneaker, including a Yu-Gi-Oh@ card battle, best anime-inspired costume contest, and a collectors showdown for Yu-Gi-Oh! collectors.
If you're not able to make it to either event, your only chance is via the Nike SNKRS app. Nike will be releasing the pair on September 12, 2025, at 10:00 AM ET (7:00 AM PT) via a draw. This means you will have 10 minutes to enter the release, with winners selected a few minutes after entries close at 10:10 AM ET (7:10 AM PT). To ensure a smooth entry, make sure you billing/shipping information is up-to-date on the Nike SNKRS app.
As for the Jonouchi colorway, this will be exclusive to Japan. If you REALLY want to cop, you can try to find a reshipping service or fork up the premium on the secondary market.
