Long live Virgil Abloh. The late designer forever impacted the fashion and art space with his creative vision, heading Louis Vuitton’s men's line, creating immaculate sneaker collabs with Nike, spearheading Off-White, and adding his unique touch to countless other projects. There’s much more to Virgil’s story than we can tell in one blog, but we’re here to discuss Virgil Abloh Archives, which recently dropped its inaugural print publication and announced a giveaway for 100 pairs of the upcoming Off-White x Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG White remake, aka the Alaskas. Now, we have an official release date and info on how the pair will be released.

The first chance you’ll have to get the VAA x Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Alaska will be in Los Angeles. Virgil Abloh Archives will be hosting a “World’s Fair” event across the globe in different cities, with LA up first on March 14-15 from 11 AM to 6 PM Pacific. After LA, World’s Fair events will take place in Hong Kong, New York, London, Paris, Tokyo, and Chicago, including programming that focuses on the newly released The Virgil Reader Vol. 001, upcoming Archive launches like the AJ 1 High, discussion panels, community events, and more.

There will be no in-person sales for the VAA AJ1 High at the event. Instead, an EQL raffle for LA locals will go live online ahead of the event. Once the raffle goes live, we’ll notify you via the Sole Retriever mobile app. Don’t worry, though, there will be more opportunities to cop.

Following the World’s Fair event, the VAA x Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Alaska will be released via Nike SNKRS on April 3, 2026. Select retailers are also expected to get the sneaker, though the date hasn’t been confirmed just yet. Expect it either on the same date as Nike SNKRS or shortly after. Once more info comes to light, we’ll update this post and send a notification to you via the Sole Retriever app. Retail is set at $230.
