For stylist and jewelry designer Veneda Carter, the move from December to March for the drop of her upcoming Nike Air Muse collab in Racer Blue was exactly that, with a new photo shoot featuring the retro runner modeled in custom football jersey ballet dresses.

“When I went to Nike’s headquarters to work on my second colorway of the Air Max Muse, all the references I pulled from the Department of Nike Archives were retro running shoes with cool, shiny materials and a mix of brighter colors,” Carter said. “I wanted to recreate that feeling with this shoe, connecting people to Nike’s running heritage and the kind of sneakers I wore growing up.”

Mixing up the low-profile balletcore trend sweeping women’s footwear and the 20 to 30-year-old retro runners that dominate the rest of the shoe market, Carter’s blend of white, blue, and neon green with premium leather and chrome accents is a perfect encapsulation of the current moment in lifestyle sneakers.

The Veneda Carter x Nike Air Max Muse Racer Blue will be released through Carter’s website March 6, 2026, with a global drop through Nike and select retailers in-store and online March 13. 2026.
