The Vans x Timberland Collection Releases On December 20th

It's not too often we see two footwear manufacturers come together for collaboration as each brand is typically looking to secure its own identity in the industry, however, this rare sighting is happening after we saw Allbirds and adidas combine forces this year. Vans, the skateboard-focused label from California is linking up with an NYC staple, Timberland, on a collaboration that merges silhouettes and styles from both labels without it feeling forced.

Each brand brings one of its most iconic silhouettes to the table for the other to put their spin on as Vans gives Timberland two colorways of what is now a boot version of the Half Cab silhouette (dubbed the Half Hiker) while Timberland lets Vans add its checkerboard pattern and branding to the classic 6in Waterproof boot. Starting with the Half Cab, the model comes dressed in suede for both colorways with one being a classic “Wheat” shade you’d find parading the streets of NYC and the other getting a “Beef & Brocoli” makeover. Each comes with Half Cab and Timberland logos debossed near the collar and heel and receive a lace set you’d typically find on a standard pair of Timberland boots. The silhouette also receives an upgrade for its sole unit as a large rubber portion wraps up near the upper and the outsole gets lugged, ready for the outdoors.

For Vans’ take on the 6in Waterproof Boot, a “Black Gum” colorway graces the model with suede taking over the majority of the upper and white stitching accenting throughout. Running up the tongue is a set of black flat laces, running through the eyestays that are hosted on a black and grey checkerboard pattern-dressed panel. Atop the tongue is the typical waterproof Timberland logo, however, the heel receives an “Off The Wall” logo in a vibrant red shade that bursts off the black rubber it sits atop. Underfoot is a thick rubber midsole paired with a gum rubber outsole.

The Vans x Timberland Collection is set to release on December 20th, 2022 Vans, Timberland, and select retailers online and in-store. Releasing in men's sizing, the retail price for the Half Hiker is set at $160 while the 6in Boot will be priced at $230.
