Vans is going to keep hitting us over the head with heat all summer. As we get deeper into the warm months, the SoCal skate brand is keeping up its recent artistic turn, bringing out yet another pack of Old Skools, this time using the canvas base for its original intended purpose…as a platform for paint.
A Paint Pack with Extra Splat
The Vans Old Skool Paint Splatter Pack is the latest collection of classic Old Skools given artistic enhancements. Instead of jewelry, belt buckles, knots, or buttons, though, this pack takes it to the paint store, splattering shades of black, red, white, and blue on the toeboxes of two pairs; one in off-white and the other in a dark grey that’s almost black.

From their original blank canvas start, the pairs both add unique splotches of paint to cover parts of the toe and front half of the side panels in what looks like the legit results of a long day in the studio or out bombing. On the Turtledove pair, black and white paint stands out against the creamy canvas upper and olive green stripe logo. As for the Charcoal Grey colorway, hits of red and blue paint stand out against the dark upper.
