After the success of the Vans Chanel Souvenir handbag-inspired Old Skool colorways that replicated the aesthetic look of a vintage Chanel bag onto the classic shoe, the SoCal skate shoe brand is digging back into the luxury house’s archives for even more high-fashion muses.

The Vans Authentic La Habana Pack features two colorways of the low-profile skate shoe covered in paint-splattered toes, sequined uppers, and rattling keychain charms, just like the Chanel Cuba La Habana Hobo Bag from the brand’s 2016/17 Cruise Collection. Dropping in combos of white/black and green/blue, each shoe features a suede toe cap splattered with paint, while the rest of the upper is covered in a sequin pattern similar to the Chanel bag. A keychain with bronze charms like a globe, airplane, dice, and more calls out the travel theme of the Chanel bag.

When Vans dropped the Souvenier pack, taking its first turn borrowing from Chanel, the luxury inspiration quickly picked up steam across the sneaker industry, and in addition to selling out, was immediately followed by a Nike Air Force 1 that took on the same Chanel-inspired colorway and theme. If imitation is flattery, Chanel should be very, very flattered.
