Tyler, The Creator has evolved both musically and stylistically, starting his career with a more skateboard-streetwear focus mixed with his youthful angst, and eventually transforming into his present day dapper, “sophisticated” look. With his rise in fame came the opportunity to work with Converse through his Golf Wang label, providing his own take on classic Converse silhouettes. Now the multi-talented artist is getting a crack at designing his own silhouette, the Golf le Fleur x Converse GLF 2.0.
Arriving in two colorways inspired by Tyler’s original Converse collab, “Oil Green Bison” and a “Curry Copper” look, the silhouette follows the suede construction and vibrant colors that are often seen on Golf le Fleur collabs. Starting with the “Oil Green” look, the silhouette's canvas base comes in the aforementioned oil green while the overlays around the toe, eyestays, and heel as well as the mesh tongue and laces take on a shade of brown. On the Curry pair, this same two-tone colorblocking is chosen with the copper overlays, mesh tongue, and laces accenting the curry-colored canvas.
Forgoing the usual flower motif on the upper, there is but only one branding detail in the form of the Golf le Fleur and Converse co-branded tongue tag. On the pink insole present on both pairs is another co-branded graphic, finally introducing the iconic flower Golf is well known for. Underfoot on both pairs is a “Winter White” midsole with Converse branding on the left heel and a subtle nod to both brands on the right, replacing the star with a flower. Rounding out the look is a pink rubber outsole.
The Golf le Fleur x Converse GLF 2.0 is set to debut on June 9th, 2022 in Oil Green Bison and Curry Copper colorways, releasing through converse.com and select retailers. Coming in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $110.
