Asics has been riding high on retro runner popularity, but the brand’s extensive catalog goes beyond the familiar silhouettes like the GT-2160, Gel-1130, and Gel-Kayano 14. Among the lesser-known models is the Gel-Kahana TR V4, a versatile outdoor-inspired sneaker that recently saw a limited release in China. Before this model hits the global stage, Asics is teaming up with Chinese streetwear brand TroubleSmile to deliver an exclusive colorway that will turn heads.
The TroubleSmile x Asics Gel-Kahana TR V4 is a bold and fiery rendition of the new model. The sneaker features metallic silver overlays around the mudguard, eyestays, and the iconic Tiger stripes, providing a sleek contrast against the vibrant base. The base layer is where the design truly comes to life, with a flame graphic that transitions from a bright yellow hue at the toe to deeper shades of orange and red as it moves toward the heel. This dynamic gradient effect adds a sense of motion and energy to the shoe, making it a standout piece in any collection.
The sneaker also incorporates practical design elements like speed lacing in an orange hue with yellow accents, ensuring a secure and snug fit for any adventure. An added TroubleSmile tag on the lateral side of the upper further emphasizes the collaboration. Underfoot, the sneaker has a cream foam midsole for comfort and a black and red outsole designed for superior traction on various terrains.
The TroubleSmile x Asics Gel-Kahana TR V4 will release on August 16, 2024, via Asics, TroubleSmile, and select retailers online and in-store, exclusively in China.
