The Orlando sneaker scene has taken a major blow. Retail storefront Trophy Room, founded by Michael Jordan’s son Marcus in 2016, is closing down its brick-and-mortar storefront and Marcus is stepping away from the business. Trophy Room will still exist online “as a different brand,” so we’ll see if they still sell sneakers once everything is finalized with the shop. In addition to sharing this news, Marcus also unveiled the canceled Trophy Room x Air Jordan 6 project, detailing the design inspiration and multiple samples for the shoe that was initially intended to release in 2025.

Trophy Room x Air Jordan 6 Sample Details

Marcus’ Instagram post and his story featured different versions of the Trophy Room x Air Jordan 6. One version was intended for retail, with a second nearly identical pair created as a friends-and-family companion. The other two versions, one in purple suede with black and infrared accents and another in black suede with gradient hits on the midsole, were scrapped samples.

Starting with the pair that was initially intended to see a retail release, Marcus added UV reflective coating to a White Infrared AJ 6. Details typically found on Trophy Room collabs, like Michael Jordan’s signature and a Trophy Room logo, are found on the left shoe, with the right pair adding extra signed details. These additional hand-written details are pulled from a pair of Black Infrared 6s worn in the 1991 NBA Finals that Michael Jordan gifted Marcus and his brother Jeffery.

The retail version of the pair turns purple in the sun to represent the Lakers, who fell to the Chicago Bulls in the ‘91 Finals. For the friends and family iteration, the upper turns blue in the sun, paying homage to the Bulls sweeping the Pistons in the Eastern Conference Finals. On the insole, MJ’s stats from the ECF are found on the left shoe, and his stats from the ‘91 Finals against the Lakers are found on the right.

Trophy Room x Air Jordan 6s Scrapped Release

Jordan Brand initially intended the Trophy Room Air Jordan 6 to release during the Fall 2025 (July-September) season, but the release never came. With Marcus stepping away from Trophy Room and him sharing all these samples, it’s safe to assume the collab is canceled and will not see a retail release.
