The Atlanta-based artist-turned-designer is set to launch his streetwear brand, Hommewrk. To celebrate, James has teamed up with Saucony on a special edition of their classic Jazz 81 silhouette. Inspired by the first sneaker he first owned as an immigrant moving to America, which is a perfect concept for his brand's first collab.
Nicknamed the “Sorrel Red” edition, the Hommewrk x Saucony Jazz 81 is a nod to Trinidad James’ favorite drink, “Sorrel,” which ties back to his West Indian heritage and is made of dried hibiscus flower petals. The sneaker is dressed in red and pink, featuring premium leather and suede on the upper as well as a translucent TPU toe box and toe wrap. Pink accents, Homework branding on the tongue and back heels are finished off by custom printed insoles and three sets of shoe laces.
The Hommewrk x Saucony Jazz 81 “Sorrel Red” is set to release exclusively at ComplexCon on November 6th, 2021. A follow-up drop at select Saucony retailers will follow on “Black Friday” November 26th, 2021. A limited release, they will be available exclusively in men’s sizing. Retail is set at $130.
